Seeing that today is 12/12/12 which is kinda special, I decided that I should do something a little different for today's post to commemorate this date. Today I'm documenting not just one thing that made me smile, but twelve!
So here we go, 12 things that made me smile on the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012:

Day 280 - Sleeping in, Sambag x Lynette Wills ballet flats and salted egg crab at Omah's
Here are a few things that put a smile on my dial today:
- Being able to sleep in! Oh gosh it's been many, many weeks since I've been able to sleep in. The simple act of not having to set the alarm, not having to check for time and to be able to blissfully continue lying in bed knowing you don't need to be somewhere - moments like these need to be appreciated more often.
- These gorgeous ivory and black french lace Sambag ballet flats designed by Lynette Wills, former principal artist of the Australian Ballet, part of the limited edition Swan Lake Collection. Love!
- Salted egg crab and a fresh coconut at Omah's is always a winner.

Day 174 - 4 ways to beat the winter blues
When it's 9 degrees outside, dark and gloomy with rain and hail pouring down, here are 4 ways to beat the winter blues:
- Wear a kaleidoscope of colours. The more colours you wear, the more points you earn!
- Spend some time asking your pet how their day was, because chances are they've been sitting around all day wondering what you're doing and what time you're coming home.
- Hug a cat. Preferably a big and fat one!
- Put on some music and escape!

Day 167 - Rilakkuma wearing lipstick, The Very Hungry Caterpillar clothes, pretty lace, Harvest Festival lineup and hide and seek with Snowflake
Here are a few things that put a smile on my face today:
- Kerri accidentally knocked over my little Rilakkuma dashboard bobble spring thingamajig and it had a great tumble onto my desk. She picked it up and kissed it better. Now little Rilakkuma has lipstick all over its head!
- I didn't know The Very Hungry Caterpillar had its own line of clothing, so cute!
- The exquisite lace on this Camilla and Marc dress.
- I'm wearing my excited pants because the official lineup for this year's Harvest Festival has been announced and its INCREDIBLE! SIGUR ROS! BECK! CAKE! GRIZZLY BEAR! BEN FOLDS FIVE! THE DANDY WARHOLS!
- Reason #65 why I love Snowflake - she plays hide and seek with me!

Day 109 - I think Darren Criss from Glee really loves Hanson, levitating llama, poor kitten left for zombies, the happiest coat lining, Snowflake is fat and Neil Pasricha reminding us to remember how lucky we are to be here right now
- I brushed my teeth smiling while watching this this morning! But I'm still a little uncertain, do you think he likes Hanson?!
- Oh my gosh isn't this the funniest thing?!?!?!? Thanks for the early morning chuckle Soon Yang!
- And the afternoon chuckle Jon!
- This is the happiest coat lining in the world.
- Michael: "Your cat's so fat. She's been climbing onto my lap a lot for a nap and she usually slides off while she's asleep because she's so fat. One time she was sleeping on my lap and she started sliding off, but then she startled herself and... (mad laughter) woke up just as she was falling off and fully sank her claws into my thighs to hang on and pull herself up. It was really painful! Man, she's so fat."
Exactly at that moment, Snowflake jumps onto the table where we were sitting, flops herself down while clumsily knocking a paper bag off the table, proceeds to roll onto her back sticking all four legs in the air, then blinks at us. - Loved loved LOVED Neil Pasricha's post for today, # 2- Remembering how lucky we are to be here right now on his blog 1000 Awesome Things. I remind myself from time to time of this very humbling, spine-chilling sensation when you look at yourself, at everyone and everything that's surrounding you whether it's your family, your friends, your job, your environment, the food you eat, the roads you walk on, the buildings you go past everyday..... and you marvel at how everything came together, how everything just somehow fell into place so that you and all these things would be here, exactly as how you are and they are now. And how freakin' incredible is that?! Of course, Neil articulates it leaps and bounds better than I can.

Never forget that you are so lucky to be here right now, doing whatever it is you are doing.

Day 77 - Vacuuming in Louboutins again and Snowflake high on shoes
Today's post is all about one of my favourite things - shoes!
A few weeks ago I posted about vacuuming in my Christian Louboutin Decollette heels. I was at it again today, but in my Very Prive heels this time around.
Just like the Decollettes, I'm pretty sure these shoes will never see the light of day either as at 5 inches high, I find them impossible to walk in! But they sure are stunning to look at....
...and fun to prance around in while vacuuming!
Snowflake seems to have inherited a shoefetish obsession from me as she strangely looooves sniffing and rubbing my shoes (which, for the record, is not something I do). Sometimes she sticks her whole head into a shoe, and even places her front paws into them as if she's wearing them!
Tonight I found her fervously rubbing her head against my Ferragamo heels. I chuckled madly as she started rolling around wildly afterwards in an euphoric state, just like she was high on catnip!
"Ohhhh yeeeaaaaa..."
"Uh oh it's kicking in..."
"Whhoooaaaa yeeeaaaaa maaaaaaaannn..."

Day 61 - Rilakkuma umbrella, Melissa + Jason Wu Ultragirl flats and another birthday dinner
3 is a lucky number:
- It was bucketing down with rain this morning as I was about to leave home for work, and it was then I realised I had left 3 of my umbrellas at the office. D'oh! But then I remembered I had another umbrella tucked away (for a rainy day)... my cute pink rilakkuma umbrella from Stan:
- A gorgeous pair of Melissa + Jason Wu Ultragirl Lace flats. They are the answer to the wet shoes/feet ordeal I have been going through every morning this week from the rain. Love the intricate lace detailing, the owl motif, and of course the trademark bubblegum scent of Melissa shoes.
- I love how I'm still having birthday dinners long after my birthday! Tonight it was with Michael at Mezzo. Pork belly and soufflé make me a happy little kitten.
So cute! I was smiling all the way to work while holding its little head upside down in my hand heeheehee

Day 59 - Cute Melissa flip-flops, great Citibank customer service, housemates who cook, unexpected birthday card and Scranton the Electric City
It's a 5'er today:
- Melissa Harmonic Bird flip-flops at 35% off. So cute, so comfortable.
- I gave Citibank a call and was pleasantly surprised by the great customer service I received. I spoke to a girl who was based at their call centre in Philippines, and it was obvious that she was wearing a smile the whole time we spoke. We even chatted about Boracay Island, and she suggested that I visit the Puerto Princesa Underground River in Palawan, as it had recently been chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature!
- My housemate, Michael, made me a delicious shrimp sandwich from our Neil Perry cookbook. Having a nice housemate is so awesome.
- I received an unexpected birthday card in the mail today... 2 weeks after my birthday. I love birthdays that drag on for ages!
- Loved Season 6 Episode 13 of The Office and was in stitches all the way through, but it was the ending that had me hysterical with laughter!

Day 55 - Still high on Death Cab, Boost brainfreeze, pink silk dress and blobby Snowflake
4 things:
- Almost 2 days later, I'm still buzzing from seeing Death Cab for Cutie's incredible live performance 2 nights in a row. I love that my iPod sometimes seems to know exactly what to play on shuffle. While walking home today, with my mind occupied with work, it decided to play me this Death Cab song. I swear I must have emitted some sort of retarded squeak as I broke into a massive grin on the footpath.
- Getting brainfreeze from a Boost Strawberry Squeeze when the temperature is a scorching 35 degrees.
- Breathtakingly beautiful blush pink silk and delicate beading on my gorgeous Alannah Hill frock, which was on sale for 50% off woo hoo!
- Snowflake comically looking like a gigantic white blob. A white blob with a floppy, saggy belly and a comparatively little head!

Day 48 - It's still my birthday!
First of all, here's a photo of Snowflake sticking a bit of her tongue out heeheehee so cute.
It felt like it was my birthday all over again today!

Day 42 - Pretty stuff for my niece and vacuuming in Louboutins
Q: What never fails to put a smile on my face?
A: Seeing something extremely pretty, and buying it!
Q: What never fails to put an even bigger smile on my face?
A: Giving said extremely pretty thing to my niece.
Q: What never fails to give me heart palpitations?
A: A stunning pair of Christian Louboutin Decollete heels.
Every time I look at them I fall in love over and over again. My heart flutters and skips a few beats. Unfortunately these shoes will probably never see the light of day because I simply cannot walk in 4.5 inch heels. So I do the next best thing, I wear them when I vacuum!
They make the tedious chore of vacuuming seem a bit more fabulous, darling.

Day 12 - Pretty things, chocolate and The Office
I'm a sucker for pretty things. I stumbled upon this gorgeous bracelet set by Melbourne designer Cat Hammill and fell in love with it immediately (needless to say Snowflake was all over the bracelets the second I took them out of the bag!). I especially love the charms and the inscribed messages of peace, faith, love and living the life. I have a feeling I'll have a small collection of Cat Hammill pieces soon!
Whoever said chocolate makes everything better was onto something. Right now, I'm enjoying a decadent Pierre Hermé dark chocolate bar with raspberry ganache...
... while chuckling over The Office with Snowflake.
